Racing in this year’s 848 Challenge? Then you need this product, trust us. These BSD Performance crash bungs are not cosmetic additions; they were designed on the racetrack to protect your engine from damage – and nearly all engine damage on a Ducati is expensive! The bolts are manufactured from high-tensile EN19 steel, and can be torqued to Ducati settings. The bung is backed by an aluminium plate and can be easily replaced manufactured from pure nylon it sits behind the fairing and is designed to slide – and disintegrate – as it goes. Allowing the bike to slide actually causes far less damage overall (we’ve found through experience…) and although you’ll wear a hole in the fairing side, you’ll save the water pump or clutch and anything else that’s vulnerable. Weighed up against the cost of repairing an engine, over a season’s racing this is the best money you’ll ever spend.
