The owner of this handsome Guzzi was an Italian himself and rode up all the way from London. He does some mileage on the bike – he hasn’t had it that long and has racked up over 16,000 miles – and is a big Guzzi fan.

He brought it in to us because he didn’t feel the engine was as economical as it should be (having removed the cat and standard exhaust) and sure enough it was over-fuelling in a drastic way. Why? Because the back pressure of the standard setup makes the engine work harder, so it needs more fuel. Take it away, and give it a free-flowing exhaust and it’ll run too rich.

Thus the poor fuel economy of this one!
