The owner of this Yamaha Tenere is slowly prepping his bike for a proper adventure ride to Morocco. He’s owned it from new and has been doing the sort of mods that make life a little easier when the going gets tough – things like a second bearing in the rear wheel hub.

Our job was to fit and setup the Power Commander and DNA air filter; we also gave him a switch (under the seat where nobody would find it) and a choice of two maps, one to match his performance filter and the other for the pre-oiled foam filters he’ll take with him, ready to run on poor fuel in dusty conditions.

We did gain a couple of horsepower after the Dyno work but truthfully this job was all about making the engine usable and adaptable in a variety of conditions, while running really low quality fuel.
