Oh dear. It doesn’t always go to plan… The first time this GSX-R came in we couldn’t ‘read’ the ECU. Our system simply couldn’t access it. So the owner went away, some software checking went on and he came back, because we were now sure we’d be able to plug in. But no, still not happening.
By this time we are properly embarrassed, but determined to get it sorted. So we found a two week window in time where we knew we’d remapped a coupe of Suzukis perfectly, and then suddenly not, so why? It turned out, in the end to be an update in the software we use that had a tiny glitch – but it was enough to cause the problem. A swift re-upload later and we were ready to start again.
And third time lucky we slotted straight in and finally got on with the remap. Which turned out beautifully, 115bhp at the rear wheel which is healthy for an older 600 like this.
We got there in the end, but a few red faces were seen in our workshop…
