Suzuki GSX-R1000K6 10,000 mile service

By 16th January 2013Servicing, Suzuki

The owner of this GSX-R came from Norwich (he’d been recommended by a friend) to get his bike serviced. It was not quite due for valve clearances but we went through everything anyway because of its age. Our major services are labour intensive because of the time we take on the details – we want the bike to feel brand new when the owner picks it up.

The headstock bearings and rear linkages were cleaned, checked and greased. We also pulled out all the levers and greased the pivots, and stripped and cleaned the brakes; all fluids, including coolant, were also replaced. The owner had complained of slightly rough running so we balanced the throttle bodies, and then took it for its MOT. When it was all done we were quietly pleased – a tidy, clean and solid bike nicely fettled!

With seven years under its belt this GSX-R was still tidy – but still benefitted from some BSD TLC…
