2006 Kawasaki ZZ-R1400 Power Commander PC V fit and setup

By 22nd October 2012ECU Remap, Kawasaki, Power Commander

This Kawasaki ZZ-R1400 – lovely bike by the way – is owned by a regular customer (who’s got rid of a Triumph Rocket III for the Kwak) and was fitted with a Two Brothers exhaust and made its way to us for fit and setup on the Dyno of a Power Commander PC V, as he wasn’t sure if it was running right with the cans on.

Importantly on these ZZ-Rs is the air filter – it’s very small, so even if you’re keeping the stock item check it regularly because it’ll clog up long before the service interval. This particular bike was fine, and as it was an early 2006 model had no lambda sensor fitted (the later ones, with lambda are much more difficult – doable, but a pain in the arse!). After we’d done the work on the Dyno this engine pumped out 182bhp – fantastic. It’s a well-loose, well looked after motor and shows the difference it can make against a newer, tighter unit.

A nicely loose engine, Power Commander PC V and a careful Dyno setup equals 182bhp at the back wheel. Not bad!
