This Ducati Streetfighter came in for an initial Dyno run to see what where it was with its fuelling and what we could do. We had a chat with the owner afterwards; in all fairness it was pretty good in the mid-range and top-end, it was just a bit rough off the bottom which is something we could address if he wanted to spend the cash on an ECU remap.

He went away, thought about it and brought it back with the words “Get on with it, I’m not happy with it…” Something became apparent as we worked were the throttle bodies’ sync. It was fine at idle, but when you picked the throttle up an inbalance became obvious (this happens quite a lot with V-twins). In this case the rear throttle plate was lagging behind the front.

Anyway, we did the remap, switched off all the emissions rubbish and sorted the fuelling – basically it was dead short of fuel and super-lean at lower rpm. Next stop for this owner was his local Ducati dealer to get his bodies straightened out…
