It has been a while since I have found time to keep you all up to date with what has been happening at BSD.
The season started really busy because the weather has been kind, but just lately the phone has been quieter than normal as the children are on holiday from school and people take their annual leave.
Again we have all sorts of motorcycles coming through our doors, carburettor models and of course fuel injection models, there seems to be a general consensus among dealers that they will not work on any thing that is over 10 years old, we have heard this from many of our customers.
So where do customers go?
Labour rates are really high also, some are over £100 per hour, so you want a pair of tyres fitting, which is generally 1 hours labour, can motorcyclists really afford this???
It is bad enough that the tyre, parts prices have increased a lot over the past 6 months, making motorcycling less affordable, the increase in tax and insurance is also a worry.
The moral is that customers are now keeping their bikes for longer because the days of changing your bike every 3 years has gone, so require a reliable, affordable local garage that can fulfil 90% of their needs!!
