Here at BSD we have ecu re-mapping the GSXS1000 since 2015, when customer’s were contacting us about the on/off throttle problems and slow speed running issues.
We were lucky enough to have a bike here for a week back then, so we could get to the bottom of all the issues with this model and 4 years later this is the newest version and it still has the issues.
This owner removed the cat and the flapper valve, which improved things slightly but it was only half the job, all the emission controls need to be switched off and the bike then needs to be custom fuel mapped to suit all the changes.
Only then will the bike be more rider friendly and be enjoyable to ride, the bhp increase is a bonus but the ridability is a must for everyone.
