The owner of this 2014 Scrambler had bought a ram air kit and wanted it fitted plus the ECU remapped to suit. Now the gains from the ram air – and on this sought of bike, which is not flat chat everywhere – is in the midrange, just off the bottom when you gas it up.

They do feel healthier and stronger afterwards and the remap has to sort out the fact that the bike’s air inlet has been opened wide. But don’t be thinking you’ll get a vast surge of peak rpm power ­– you won’t. A nice bit of extra stomp in the middle is what you’ll have, which fits the machine nicely.
