There’s a cut off point at the moment of 2013 for bikes like this 675 Daytona that we can ECU remap. But the real beauty for us of a remap – rather than a Power Commander – is that we directly switch off all of the emissions interference. And there’s an awful lot of it!
So once we’ve dealt with everything we can actually get the engine running properly, and breathing like it should. With a decent air filter and exhaust, and fully uncorked you’ll get 122bhp at the rear wheel, which is respectable.
But the real bonus is the strong, smooth feel of the power delivery gained by getting rid of the problems directly. You can plug all sorts of eliminators in alongside a PC but the ECU still ‘looks’ for what it needs. All the eliminator does, really, is get rid of the light on the dash…
