It’d been stood all winter and the owner of this 1098 Streetfighter was unsure when it had had new belts, if at all. Rather than ride it here he trailered it to Peterborough for us to go over.

First job then, was new belts – sorted, followed by new oil and a fresh filter. Next up we took a look at the Ohlins front forks. The seals go on these track-day spec items fairly regularly; probably to keep them as stiction-free as possible the seals are quite light and a bit of brake dust kills them. We added new seals and rebuilt the forks with fresh oil, job done.

As for the test ride… let’s just say as much as we love our Ducatis this particular model is perhaps a little too hairy-chested for us!

It's a beast! But now a beast with new belts...
