Martin was kind enough to send us his thoughts on his KTM SMT post ECU-remap…
Hello, I came in on the 26th Sept and had my 2010 KTM 990 SMT looked at by Mark for a full ECU remap. Sorry it’s taken a while but after 2000 odd miles I thought it was time to give you some feedback.
As mentioned by other KTM 990 owners I felt like I had left your garage on a completely different bike. The ride back home to Hampshire was a joy compared to what the old V Twin had made me used to.
Over the following month I’ve been using my bike for the daily commute into Central London, and it is a complete revelation. Slow speed, low rev filtering is now achievable without constant clutch control. Holding steady speeds of 20, 30, 40 & 50 are no longer a jerky lunging affair. Handy for all those pesky speed cameras!!
The engine still has little niggles in regards to smoothness, it’s never going to be an inline 4, but I knew that having owned V-Twins in the past.
In summary though, the service I have received has been first rate, the bike is now in another world compared to what it was like, and I am a very satisfied customer. Thank you for making my lovely KTM a joy to ride.
