We’ve remapped a KTM V-twin with Hooligan airbox fitted, with reasonable results, but this SM is the first bike we’ve looked at with a DNA airbox onboard (it also had a pair of KTM end cans). It came in making 117bhp and, after the remap, left with 122bhp. More importantly it was just like bolting on a pair of carburettors, with a beautiful analog feel at the throttle…
The DNA, craftily, retains the base of the original KTM airbox, where the Hooligan removes all of it. This means you don’t get any problems with under drafts from beneath the airbox. We’ve no problem recommending DNA airboxes for KTMs – they work!
