Gill was on holiday when Peter brought his KTM in, so no picture, but he was kind enough to drop us a line after with his thoughts…
Good enough for MCN so good enough for me I reckoned. A bit of a run from the south coast but well worth it. I wasn’t particularly interested in more power or torque but did want to smooth out the throttle response at low revs. I hadn’t made life easy for Mark by wishing to otherwise keep the bike as standard retaining exhausts etc. but this didn’t seem to worry him. Although he’s done loads of these engines he still showed interest and took his time.
And the results – yes, I did get more power but the improved throttle response that I wanted is definitely there which gives me 2 important benefits. Firstly, rolling on the throttle from 2500/3000 revs is now possible – not exciting but in real world riding and traffic that is very useful. Secondly, the better response means you can open the throttle earlier which makes you smoother and faster (even without the increased power). I’m well pleased.
