The owner of this tidy KTM RC8 rode over from Oxford for his ECU remap: We started by switching off all the emissions nonsense. Now one thing we’ve learned as far as mapping KTM V-twins goes is that the Adventures are the trickiest, SMTs the most straightforward and the RC8 sits somewhere in the middle.
Sometimes you can struggle with the RC8 getting a nice feel when you come back on the throttle and this is crucial on a sports bike to get a good corner exit. And the last thing you want to do with this version of KTM’s motor is restrict it too much (SMT-spec) – which kind of defeats the full-on nature of the bike.
Anyway, this one turned out very well. Next!
