The GSX-R750L1 is a straightforward bike to ECU remap and the transformation in the engine performance and feel is marked. We make some big changes; to the secondary butterflies (we get them to open when we want them to open…) and take all the restriction out of the ignition (there is some, for the exhaust noise valve which we also switch off).
We then sort the fuelling relative to the engine and exhaust setup and end up with a lovely, lovely bike. They’re good to start with, which helps but whereas before when you cracked the throttle on you got airbox noise, and waited a bit now you get instant response as the dip in the middle – caused by the ignition map – is gone. We like!
