A slightly rare 2007 Suzuki GSX-R750 “IoM” replica in for fitment of a Power Commander PC V to overcome the shortcomings of removing the catalyzer and running an open exhaust can with a link pipe. The problem here (and this applies to many bikes in this condition) is not power output, it’s power delivery through the ‘off’ throttle position; when you crack the throttle on, off the brakes and into a corner, the engine response is snatchy and just not nice.
Full exhaust systems really make use of what a Power Commander can do for outright performance and delivery; in this case we’re making best of the engine in this form by adding fuel at the smaller throttle openings to smooth out the on/off transition, with more added through 4-9,000rpm to boost midrange power.
