This GSX-R1000K2 was fitted with a quickshifter plus auto-blipper that, in theory will blip the throttle on downchanges matching the engine rpm to road speed. It came in for some attention and a remap for its Power Commander PC III; we also set up the QS for upshifts on the Dyno while we were there, but the downshifts are another matter…
In all honesty we left it alone – these are tricky, and finicky to sort for an individual never mind use in reality on a track (and have it set right), and funnily enough this bike had been down the road at Mallory, with the auto-blipper the prime suspect.Best avoided, really. Use your instincts and right wrist if you haven’t got a slipper clutch, and if you want a quickshifter fit a Cordona PQ8.
