This turned out really well. Generally it seems the feeling is that the Ducati Scrambler is a bit snatchy at the bottom end – we’ve had a few enquiries about ECU remapping and this is what the owners are telling us. The owner of this one (he’d fitted end-cans) stayed overnight in Peterborough and let us get on with it. As it was the first Scrambler we’d remapped we told him we’d need to take our time, which is what we did…

First job was to disconnect the lambda sensor and fit one of our BSD lambda bungs, and switch it off in the ECU. We could then set about mapping it. We found an engine very short of fuel low down – all for emissions, thus the snatchiness – which was easily rectified. This is a slightly detuned 70bhp motor but after the remap it was a dream, and smooth, on the test ride. The snatch was gone and we were pleased!

They're a bit snatchy low down – lean running is the problem, cured with an ECU remap.
