Ducati 906 Paso service and new tyres

This old school Ducati 906 Paso was booked in to our workshop for a valve clearance check, oil/filter change and new set of tyres. Now 16″ tyres are becoming a rare size, and the OE ( 130/60ZR16 ) front is no problem, but the rear because it’s a (160/60ZR16) it seems that none of the tyre manufacturers make one.

We informed the customer of this and he recalled that he had seen an article in MCN stating that the Avon Azaro’s were made in the 130/60ZR16 and 150/80ZR16 sizes and they would be a suitable alternative. Well we have to agree that they went on but not without a bit of a struggle – it was that rear tyre that was the problem and because Mark fits tyres the old fashioned way without a tyre machine, we had to take the wheel to a local tyre fitter to get it onto the rim.

Now this lovely old classic has had a service and new boots, she is ready to do some more miles and be enjoyed by her owner in the summer months.
