We’re getting a lot of Ducatis coming through for ECU remapping recently. The 848 Streetfighter seems to be fairly variable; some, not all can feel very aggressive on the throttle and it’s that reseponse that owners really don’t like.

We start the remap process by switching off all the emission controls, and the lambda, and then we get into the fuelling maps. Generally, they’re very lean at the bottom end and do need quite a bit of sorting out. And sometimes a remap for one of these can turn into a long job – 4/5 ECU flashes before we get to the point that we’re happy.

Like we said, they’re patchy. We could get another through the doors, put our base map in, trim the fuelling, and it’ll be fine. In truth, that doesn’t happen very often…
