This twin-spark Multistrada came in for an ECU remap and its owner wasn’t fussed about having it back immediately – good job really because the bike needed a service and its belts sorting…
So we did the service first, no problems there. We also replaced the chain and sprockets because they’d done 12,000 miles (and his next trip is Morocco) and had developed a tight spot. As for the remap the owner was really unhappy with the throttle in Enduro mode – he’d spent time with it off-road and found it snatchy on dirt trails. He was looking for a more progressive feel.
We remapped the fuelling then took a good look at the throttle maps. It appears that Urban and Enduro are one and the same and because we had the bike here for some time we could make changes and then go and test them in the real, world over and over again.
And we got it feeling really smooth, and able to be left in Sport mode all day long on the road. The owner gave us some great feedback a couple of weeks after collecting it and he is now a happy man, with Urban is preferred setting…! Just the result we wanted.
