Moto Guzzi Griso 8 valve full ECU remap

Posted October 25th, 2013 in ECU Remap, Moto Guzzi.

Oh dear, Moto Guzzi run these things really lean, terribly lean in fact. The owner was suffering on rides out with his Harley-mounted mates, they could just pull away and he’d have to drop a gear or two. In his own words “it’s just got no go in it…”

So we switched the lambda sensor off and fuelled it up properly, plus added a little bit of tweaking with the ignition map to pep up the bottom end. And the engine responded beautifully. Many Italian bikes don’t use a secondary air system to meet emissions regulations, they do it via the ECU and lambda. So the lambda becomes the engine’s life and if it’s not working well for whatever reason (sometimes they just don’t, more often it’s age and wear – we get through 6 a year on our Dyno…) then the engine won’t work well either.

More mid-range welly needed for this Griso – nothing that an ECU remap couldn't sort out...
