Yoshimura R77 end-can for 2011 Kawasaki ZX-10R
Yoshi’ USA have just released a new R77 open end-can for the 2011 Kawasaki ZX-10R. If you use the optional link pipe you’ll also need a PC V to deal with the lambda sensor and make the most of the pipe, in fact we’d advise against using an open can on a bike like the [...]
Cordona PQ8 Quickshifter
We’ve been fitting these for a good while now and have found that the Cordona PQ8 system strain gauge quickshifter works flawlessly. The system’s fully adjustable, fully programmable, and while it’s cutting the unit tells the bike’s ECU that all is OK. Its harness is plug and play, there’s no wire cutting and it bolts [...]

Suzuki GSX-R1000 IRC traction control install
A trip to the EICMA Milan show last year threw up a couple of interesting products – and this was one of ‘em. IRC (Italian Racing Components) Traction Control was something we had to know more about as many of ours customers – good club racers and track day lads always looking for an edge [...]
Kawasaki ZZ-R1100 carb clean and balance
One clean, tidy low-mileage Kawasaki ZZ-R1100 that’s been stood over many winters; the fuel has, over time corroded the carburettor internals and this winter it cried enough and came in running on two-and-a-half cylinders. The carbs were removed and stripped; the needles were furry and the pilot jets partially blocked, so everything needed a thorough [...]
Trackday BMW S1000RR Cordona PQ8 quickshifter set up
BMW’s S1000RR is the hottest track day bike of choice right now – and this 2009 model was in for a Cordona PQ8 strain gauge quickshifter kit set up. The problem with the stock BMW quickshifter (which doesn’t manifest itself on the road) is that under hard track use its action is spongy, stressing the [...]
New Yoshimura R-11R end can
Making its debut at the recent Phillip Island WSBK race was a brand new racing exhaust from Yoshimura, the R-11R. Very much in prototype (it even says so on the can!) form as of now Yoshimura says it is “focused on testing and using it in extreme use”, and of course the white-hot competition of [...]
Racing in the 848 Challenge?
Racing in this year’s 848 Challenge? Then you need this product, trust us. These BSD Performance crash bungs are not cosmetic additions; they were designed on the racetrack to protect your engine from damage – and nearly all engine damage on a Ducati is expensive! The bolts are manufactured from high-tensile EN19 steel, and can [...]
Yoshimura R-77J race can for 2011 GSX-Rs
Suzuki’s new 2011 GSX-R600 and 750 are hot off the production lines and earning rave reviews in the press; Yoshimura Japan has long ties with Suzuki and fittingly has announced that development of a race slip-on end-can for both machines is complete. The new exhaust has the same appearance as the Yoshimura USA product R-77 [...]
BMW S1000RR ECU remap
We’ve seen a fair few BMW S1000RRs through the workshop, road and race, in for varying degrees of work. Experience has shown that just changing the exhaust end can has little effect, although Yoshimura Japan has developed an EEC-approved slip-on Tri-Cone end can that works better than most. A Power Commander PC V definitely is [...]

2010 Triumph Sprint ECU Reprogram
The issues with this bike mainly concern power and power delivery off the bottom especially two-up. It’s been back to the dealer and had the latest factory tune, but the owner wants a little more. First job? Isolate the Lambda sensor and cap off the emissions unit. The bike was then put on the Dyno and we reprogrammed the stock ECU; fuelling at the bottom end has been richened up, taking away the ‘hunting’ snatchiness. Fuelling all the way through the rev range has been optimized and the ignition curve trimmed.

2009 Yamaha R1 Road to Race
To upgrade to race spec we’ve fitted an Öhlins rear shock and MCT have modded the front forks. The engine’s been out and we’ve adjusted the cam timing, ported and skimmed the cylinder head and we’re fitting a set of BSD Performance adjustable bellmouths. It’s also having a YEC race loom and ECU, plus quickshifter.
