2007 KTM Adventure 990 full ECU remap
The owner of this stock 2007 KTM Adventure travelled all the way from Derbyshire, and his first words to us when he took his helmet off were; “If you can’t cure it put it in the skip…!” The earlier fuel-injected Adventures differ from the later models in the way the ECU manages the engine, and [...]
2010 KTM 990 SMT full ECU remap
The customer who owns this SMT, fitted with an Akrapovic full system, rode all the way from Surrey for his remap; he left it with us and we did a service on it for him too. Apparently, he’d fallen out with his local KTM dealer over pricing, and the fact that he’d taken the bike back [...]
KTM 990 Supermoto with DNA airbox, full ECU remap
We’ve remapped a KTM V-twin with Hooligan airbox fitted, with reasonable results, but this SM is the first bike we’ve looked at with a DNA airbox onboard (it also had a pair of KTM end cans). It came in making 117bhp and, after the remap, left with 122bhp. More importantly it was just like bolting [...]
KTM RC8 ECU remap – a customer speaks!
Sometimes it’s good to just let our customers, rather than us, do the talking… Sorry, no picture of this RC8, Gill was making the tea! Hi Guys, Just thought I would drop you a line to tell you how my RC8 went after you mapped it. Well as I said at the time, I had [...]
Ducati 1100 Evo Monster Cordona PQ8 Quickshift fit
We have periods in the workshop where every job’s plain sailing, and whistles through without even a flutter. And then we have times when every job seems to present, shall we say, unique problems… Some of it’s our fault; because we can (and do) we tend to not get the simple jobs. Anyway, enough carping. [...]
Rupert Paul’s longterm test KTM SMT 990 full ECU remap
This KTM SMT 990 is motorcycle journalist Rupert Paul’s longterm testbike; he’d heard all the horror stories, rode the bike and swiftly bought in in for an ECU remap. It’s a completely standard bike and he was complaining about it holding back, a stuttery power delivery and its inability to maintain a constant throttle. He’d [...]
KTM Superduke R ECU remap
The customer who owns this KTM Superduke rode it all the way down from Scotland, complaining of all the usual running problems – snatchy throttle, etc. Now this particular variant of KTM’s LC8 engine is in a much higher state of tune, and it’s trickier to dial out the snatchiness and get spot-on because of [...]
KTM SMT 990, fitted with Wings exhaust, full ECU remap
Nothing special about Wings Exhausts – just a good quality, well-fitting regular can, really – but we do have to say the ECU remap went very well on this particular SMT. Plugging in to the ECU we went through all the usual stuff; MAP (Manifold Air Pressure) map, the secondary butterfly valves’ opening point, and [...]

2010 Triumph Sprint ECU Reprogram
The issues with this bike mainly concern power and power delivery off the bottom especially two-up. It’s been back to the dealer and had the latest factory tune, but the owner wants a little more. First job? Isolate the Lambda sensor and cap off the emissions unit. The bike was then put on the Dyno and we reprogrammed the stock ECU; fuelling at the bottom end has been richened up, taking away the ‘hunting’ snatchiness. Fuelling all the way through the rev range has been optimized and the ignition curve trimmed.

2009 Yamaha R1 Road to Race
To upgrade to race spec we’ve fitted an Öhlins rear shock and MCT have modded the front forks. The engine’s been out and we’ve adjusted the cam timing, ported and skimmed the cylinder head and we’re fitting a set of BSD Performance adjustable bellmouths. It’s also having a YEC race loom and ECU, plus quickshifter.
